APPRENTICE aide Nick Hewer will visit the Island in November as a guest of local charity Junior Achievement.
Lord Alan Sugar's right hand man will speak to more than 250 students who are participating in an entrepreneurial scheme run by the charity where young people set up and run their own businesses over the course of an academic year.
Junior Achievement Isle of Man is a Manx-registered charity that with the help of volunteers goes into schools to teach young people financial literacy, business and entrepreneurial skills.
This academic year Junior Achievement will run 150 classes, in 18 schools, reaching more than 4,000 young people.
Sue Cook, chief executive of Junior Achievement, said: "Getting Nick to come to the Isle of Man is a real coup for us. Nick embodies everything that Junior Achievement stands for. It has never been more important to equip our young people with skills for the future and that is exactly what Junior Achievement programmes do."
Mike Dee, the chief executive officer of Manx Telecom who is sponsoring the event, said: "I'm sure Nick will pass on many useful tips to Junior Achievement participants and give all of those attending an interesting insight into his experiences on The Apprentice.
"Manx Telecom is pleased to sponsor his visit and to support the good work of Junior Achievement which does so much to encourage the Island's young entrepreneurs."
Nick will also be a guest speaker at two functions held at the Palace Hotel where he will take audiences behind the scenes of The Apprentice before holding an extended question and answer session.
There are a limited number of tables left for the lunchtime event on November 24. Anyone interested in attending should contact Sue on 01624 666266 or e-mail suecook@jaiom.im.
