ANDREW Sanders has been appointed to the board of directors at Isle of Man Creamery Ltd.
Andrew runs Ballalough Farm in West Baldwin and is the Island's biggest producer of milk – producing more than three million litres per year.
This accounts for more than 10 percent of the milk produced in the Island.
Andrew said: "I am delighted to be joining the board of the creamery at an exciting time for the Island's dairy industry.
"In-roads have been made to new markets and we are about to launch several new products onto the local market, the UK, Ireland and further afield.
"I am looking forward to working with my fellow farmers on the board along with a very driven and skilled management team to build on the progress achieved over the last few years."
Andrew's appointment means there is now five dairy farmers on the board of the creamery – Sam Alder, Paul Fargher, Colin Kelly, Maurice Kennaugh and Andrew Sanders.
They are voted onto the board by the Island's dairy farmers, managing director Findlay Macleod, finance director Stephen Keeley and company secretary Charles Fargher.
Sam Alder, the chairman of the Isle of Man Creamery, said: "Andrew will be a powerful addition to our board. He is an experienced and knowledgeable dairy farmer who has also been a director of a large farmers' co-operative in the UK.
"My colleagues and I look forward to working with Andrew to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future."
