Local artists create Christmas Card to help Carers

by isleofman.com 25th May 2011

Local artists Felicity Wood and Jenny Kissack have created two pieces of artwork that will feature as Crossroads Caring for Carers Christmas card this year.

Felicity Wood has designed the popular Christmas cards for Crossroads for several years now and this year has produced a festive red, blue and gold Celtic design befitting to Manx heritage.

For the more traditional Christmas card, Jenny Kissack has created a watercolour painting of St Ninian’s Church at Christmas.

The cards will go on sale from Crossroads charity shops on Prospect Terrace and Victoria Street, Douglas from the beginning of November with the original pieces of work being displayed at Laxey Woollen Mills Hodgson Loom Gallery, Glen Road, Laxey from Monday 21st November to Friday 2nd December.

The Gallery will exhibit the two pieces of work alongside other artworks donated to Crossroads. The exhibit will culminate in a silent auction of all work with the proceeds going to Crossroads to provide respite care for the Islands family Carers and support services for children and adults with an illness or disability.

Crossroads are currently campaigning for local budding and established artists to donate pieces of work for exhibit and auction.

If you would be interested in donating or would like further information please contact Alex Wilson on 673103 or email mail@crossroadsiom.org.
