Breastfeeding laws are being 'rushed into'

The Isle of Man is too keen to reach for legal solutions.

That's according to retired law lecturer Peter Murcott who has been following the progress of the Breastfeeding Bill.

Despite the fact the law will now result in a civil action if someone stops a woman breastfeeding in public, rather than a criminal conviction, Mr Murcott still believes other measures should have been tried first.

This week the bill has gone through its second reading and clauses stages in the Legislative Council.
