Public sector pay rises under scrutiny

by isleofman.com 24th May 2011

Chief Minister Tony Brown faced questions over public sector pay rises in the House of Keys today (Tuesday).

During questions, Onchan MHK Peter Karran asked whether departments are altering job descriptions to give workers pay rises.

Rushen MHK Juan Watterson joined the fray, claiming the government’s wage bill had gone up by more than six per cent because of incremental pay rises.

Mr Brown said he didn’t have that information.
