No plans to close Manx airspace

by isleofman.com 24th May 2011

Ronaldsway Airport is operating as normal this afternoon (Tuesday) despite the Icelandic ash cloud causing problems in the UK.

The only flights to be cancelled today are Flybe's services to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

In the UK, a number of major airlines have cancelled a number of flights in and out of the country.

British Airways, KLM, Easyjet, Aer Lingus and Flybe have cancelled flights to Scotland and the UK Transport secretary will host an emergency cabinet meeting later as the cloud moves south.

Airport Director Anne Reynolds says the Island is not currently planning to close it's airspace.
