THE Purple Helmets and the White Helmets will once again go head to head this year during TT.
Both stunt teams will return as part of the promenade entertainment and will perform individually as well as head to head.
The White Helmets - the Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team – consists of 30 riders who are all highly-trained volunteer soldiers who tour the British Isles performing spectacular feats of balance, death defying crossover rides and acrobatics.
The Purple Helmets were formed 15 years ago and have added to the TT fun and atmosphere ever since.
Sergeant Nick Pallis from the White Helmets said: "Without a doubt our skill, speed, timing and precision will be too much for the Purple Helmets."
Derry Kissack, the promoter for the Purple Helmets, said: "My men are all hand-picked, breast-fed and trained on Okells Ale. This is going to be big and we will come out underneath."
The two teams will go head to head on Douglas Promenade on Tuesday, June 7. The White Helmets will also be performing on the promenade the night before.
Geoff Corkish MHK, Political Member for Isle of Man Tourism, said: "The solo appearance of the White Helmets together with the showdown between these two teams of highly skilled motorcyclists will be one of the many highlights of the TT festival entertainment on Douglas Promenade in this special year and will greatly complement the rest of an excellent schedule.
"Visitors and locals are in for a treat this year which will see our TT title sponsor Monster Energy adding to the noise and excitement on the promenade with their own brand of entertainment, alongside the already popular programme of fireworks, motorcycle shows, fun days, air displays and a fun fair – not to mention other TT-related events taking place Island-wide."
