by isleofman.com 23rd May 2011

TICKETS for this year's Commonwealth Youth Games will go on sale next month.

The 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games organising committee have announced that tickets for the seven events and the opening ceremony will be sold from Monday, June 13.

Geoff Karran, chairman and games director, said: "Spectators are advised to get their tickets sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. All events are a must see with the best young athletes from 69 nations of the Commonwealth competing to win the much coveted CYG2011 gold medal in each discipline."

Ticket prices for athletics, badminton, boxing, gymnastics, rugby sevens and swimming range from £6 to £15. The three cycling events are free to watch.

Concessions are available for children under 16, senior citizens and disabled groups except in the swimming and gymnastics events where this is limited seating.

Local people can purchase tickets from the Welcome Centre in the Sea Terminal, Douglas and the Villa Marina reception. Alternatively they can be bought over the telephone by calling 01624 600555.

Off Island spectators can also purchase tickets from the above ticket outlets or by contacting Regency Travel who can sort out travel, accommodation and ticket packages. E-mail richard@regencytravelholidays.com or telephone 01624 694456.

The Commonwealth Youth Games take place between September 7 and September 13.
