A Very Berry Bonus

by isleofman.com 23rd May 2011

CROSSROADS Caring for Carers Isle of Man are also enjoying a honeymoon period following The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Wedding in April.

Davisons Manx Dairy Ices created a ‘Royal Berry Bonanza’ ice cream in celebration of the Royal Wedding with a percentage of the proceeds from the sales supporting Crossroads.

The special ice cream went on sale over the Easter, Royal and May Day Bank Holidays and the glorious weather we all enjoyed helped sell over 800 cones, amounting to a whopping £400.00 for the charity.

The funds raised will go towards providing respite for the Islands Carers and helping care for people with a support need. Currently, Crossroads supports over 700 families by providing over 1,000 hours of direct carer respite and 1,000 hours of services to support people with a care need.

Alex Wilson, Crossroads Fundraising Events Co-ordinator, said: “I would like to thank Ian Davison for taking the idea from conception to creating the ice cream. We all enjoyed the ice cream at Crossroads and from this generous donation, it appears that everyone else did too. Without the support of the local community, Crossroads would not be able to continue the work it does and we look forward to working with Davisons in the future”.

Keep an eye out for more collaborative working from Davisons and Crossroads who will be working in marital harmony to host a series of events throughout the year.
