First lady of Fleet Street to speak at ICSA dinner

THE first lady of Fleet Street Eve Pollard OBE will be the guest speaker at the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators annual dinner.

 

Eve, an editor, journalist and lecturer will speak at the ICSA event on Friday, June 24.

 

She started out in women's magazines before taking on the position as editor for the Sunday Mirror and Sunday Express. She also edited magazine supplements for many national Sunday papers before launching Elle magazine in the US as its first editor-in-chief.

 

Today Eve is a regular reporter for the BBC programme The One Show and is a familiar face on other programmes including The News Quiz, You and Yours, This Morning, Have I Got News For You, Loose Women and Daily Politics.

 

The dinner is being sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland International and Treasury Minister Anne Craine MHK will present prizes to ICSA students. Ron Berry will take on the role as master of ceremonies.


Gillian Prestwich, ICSA Isle of Man chairman, said: "We are delighted to bring Eve to the Island for this event and indebted to Royal Bank of Scotland International for their invaluable support and to Ron Berry for his services as MC.


"We look forward to this highlight in the ICSA calendar and encourage people to book early for what we anticipate will be a great evening. Non-members of ICSA are also most welcome to join us."

"The Institute plays a key role in supporting chartered secretaries in the Island and there is no doubt that chartered secretaries play a key part in the ongoing success and development of the Island's business community and economy as a whole."

 

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators annual dinner will take place at the Mount Murray Hotel and Country Club in Santon. The event is open to all.
