Treble joy for St George's

by isleofman.com 23rd May 2011

St George’s have won the treble.

They added the NK Construction Hospital Cup to their trophy cabinet last night (Sunday) after coming from behind to defeat St Mary’s 5-1 in the end-of-season showpiece at Ballafletcher.

After Dominic McGreevey put the Saints in front, Chris Bass scored two quick goals to give the champions the lead.

And Ciaran McNulty, Frank Jones and Jamie Skillen – the latter two who left St Mary’s to join St George’s – rubbed salt in the wounds with further goals in the second half to round off a season to remember for the Geordies, who also romped to the Premier League title and clinched the Railway Cup.
