New Bowl used for the first time

The Isle of Man Government is the proud owner of the redeveloped Bowl, after it was officially handed over by the contractors yesterday (Friday) afternoon.

The facility is going straight into action, as it is being used for the closing ceremony for today's Manx Youth Games.

The ceremony is a chance for the organisers of the Commonwealth Youth Games to stage a dress rehearsal for some of the acts which will be performing at the opening ceremony for that event, in September.

Paul Bridson from Manx Sport and Recreation says the artificial pitch is the very latest specification:
