Live at home group seeks volunteers

A new scheme to help older people who live alone is appealing for help after it officially launched last night (Thursday).

The North Douglas Live At Home Scheme is based at Willaston Methodist Church and will see volunteers visiting older people in their homes.

Scheme manager Jo Dixon says the idea is to offer support with friendly faces in the community, and anybody who would like to get involved will be made very welcome (play audio file):
