Steady show from Manx as Rutter grabs pole

by isleofman.com 19th May 2011

Michael Rutter will start both Superbike races at the North West 200 on Saturday from pole position.

The veteran rolled back the years on his Ducati with a vintage display in qualifying today (Thursday) and TAS Suzuki rider Alastair Seeley leads both the Superstock and Supersport classes with unofficial lap records.

With Si Fulton making his debut and the other three Manx riders making comebacks from serious injuries, it's been a case of steady progress for the Isle of Man contingent..

Gavin Hunt is quickest in the Superbikes in 16th position and the Superstocks at 12th, while Dan Kneen will be 11th on the grid for the two Supersport races.

Conor Cummins has qualified all his bikes as he makes his road racing return after his serious accident in last year's Senior TT.
