by isleofman.com 18th May 2011

THE Isle of Man office of Fair Trading (OFT) has issued a statement this morning, giving advice  today on how Bay Festival ticket holders can get refunds.

The OFT said that people are entitled to refunds “ because the organiser failed to provide what they sold.”

The statement this morning said:

‘Consumers should follow the instructions set out on the Bay Festival website www.bayfestival.im

to register for a refund namely:-

 i. Write to IOM Bay Festival Ltd, PO Box 1234, Peel IOM, IM99 9YA setting out your claim for a refund (by post only – no emails or ‘phone calls).

ii.  Enclose a “proof of purchase”.

All refund requests must be made by 17th June 2011.  Refunds will be paid on or before 29th July 2011.

Chief Officer of the OFT, Paul Gelling said, “It is very disappointing for consumers that the Bay Festival is not going ahead.

“The organiser has provided information on how to claim a refund. Consumers are asked to follow the process set out on the organiser’s website. If they experience any difficulties with that process they should contact the Office on 686500.”
