by isleofman.com 18th May 2011

The shake-up of the Manx government which happened in April last year has so far cost taxpayers ?65,000 according to figures given to members of Tynwald.

Onchan MHK David Quirk asked for a breakdown of the costs by department and, in his written reply, Chief Minister Tony Brown reveals only two departments spent any money at all on the reorganisation.

The figures given by Mr Brown are ?60,000 for the Department of Infrastructure and ?5,000 for the Department of Health.

Mr Brown says the Manx Treasury set aside ?130,000 to cover any costs that couldn't be met within existing budgets.
