THERE are some "logistical issues" to resolve to ensure the Elton John concert in June will still go ahead.
That's according to Marshall Arts Ltd, the promoters who have organised the concert.
It follows the news that this year's Bay Festival has been cancelled.
A statement from Marshall Arts said: "Following today's announcement from the organisers of the Manx Telecom Bay Festival stating that this year's festival is cancelled, the promoters of the Elton John concert wish to make it clear that Elton John’s concert was not part of the cancelled Manx Telecom Bay Festival.
"However because both the Elton John concert and the Bay Festival were due to share the same infrastructure in Nobles Park there are some logistical issues to resolve to ensure that the Elton John concert will go ahead.
"The promoters of the Elton John concert have, jointly with Elton John's management, decided that they will do all they can to make certain the people of the Isle of Man will not be without live music this summer and are working together with the Douglas Corporation and the Manx Government, along with many of the Island's supply companies, to make sure that this concert will go ahead as planned.
"Elton John commented that he is 'looking forward to performing on the Isle of Man at Nobles Park on June 16', his first ever concert on the Island."
Organisers also said that tickets for the Elton John performance will be dispatched next week.
