Age Concern launch competition for brand new car

by isleofman.com 17th May 2011

AGE Concern Isle of Man has teamed up with Corkills Motor Group to offer someone the chance to win a brand new car.

The Alfa Adventure is being fronted by former car trader, turned TV presenter, Mike Brewer from Channel 4's Driven and Deals on Wheels.

Up for grabs is a red Alfa Romeo MiTo 1.4 16v junior – which can be won for just five pounds.

Mike said: "Age Concern's doing fantastic things for the over-50s in the Isle of Man so I'm delighted to do whatever I can to help."

Age Concern chief executive George Quayle said: "Age Concern Isle of Man and Alfa Romeo do have something in common - we're both driven by a passion for innovation and doing things with flair.

"We are therefore delighted to be able to offer people the opportunity to win a car that bears such a legendary name and are grateful for the support the campaign has attracted from local businesses.

"And while there'll be only one winner of the car there will be many other winners - the clients of Age Concern Isle of Man who will all benefit from the funds raised."

10,000 tickets are on sale at Age Concern shops in Douglas, Ramsey and Port Erin as well as Extreme Art and Gadgets, the Manx Legion Club, Tracey Bell’s Super Clinic, Carrefour Health Club – all in Douglas - and Celtic Gold in Peel.

There will also be opportunities throughout the year to buy tickets from the CHAT Bus when it is at Island events including the Southern Agricultural Show, Royal Manx Agricultural Show and Tynwald.

The winner will be drawn on December 2 at Age Concern's AGM at The Empress Hotel.
