Isle of Man won't be hit by heat wave says Met Office

by isleofman.com 17th May 2011

A WEATHER forecaster in the Isle of Man has said it is unlikely the Isle of Man will be hit by a two week heat wave.

Yesterday it was revealed that some parts of the UK could see a two week spell, from Saturday, of temperatures reaching 29 degrees Celsius.

This information led to the UK environment secretary Caroline Spelman calling an emergency drought summit meeting.

However Dave Boultbee, a forecaster at Ronaldsway Met Office, said: "I am afraid that the information that I have seen doesn't support that story – for our part of the British Isles anyway.

"As is often the case the national media seem to be concentrating on the south of England with their stories and temperatures there are expected to be high, especially in the southeast of England over the next week or two. For us it looks like more unsettled weather and only average temperatures."
