Greater transparency in land deals is the aim of a private member's bill being brought to the House of Keys by a Rushen MHK later this month.
Phil Gawne says buying and selling land has become a massively lucrative business over the last couple of decades, with development land prices increasing tenfold, from ?30,000 to ?300,000 per acre.
He believes the current system is unfair and allows a few investors control over most of the land.
