An inquest into the death of a convicted sex offender, who died while serving his sentence, will resume at Douglas Courthouse on Wednesday (May 18).

James Richard Fargher, 67, from Peel was sentenced to four years in prison in March last year for a string of sex attacks, some of which were on girls as young as eight.

When the inquest opened in September last year, it heard he was taken to Noble's Hospital on August 14 last year for treatment for a number of serious medical conditions, but died of respiratory failure four days later.

The hearing will resume at Douglas Courthouse at 10am on Wednesday.
