'Stepping stone' career advice from government

The Manx government's career service says the economic downturn has damaged job prospects for some local graduates.

But it adds those with a degree still have an advantage in the long run.

New research says for up to six months after students leave university, many are unemployed or in unskilled jobs.

Career advisor at the Department of Economic Development Andrew McKinley says there has also been a knock-on effect for younger students:
