Peel police team up with the Peel Play Club

by isleofman.com 13th May 2011

YOUNG people in Peel have had the chance to get to know their police officers better.

The Peel Play Club and Peel Police recently took part in an adventure evening on the boating lake at Mooragh Park.

It was designed to build relationships between the two groups and participants were challenged to build a raft, using wood, rope and barrels, and sail it to the island and back, without the boat falling apart.

Tracy Jones, youth and community worker for Peel, said: "This was a fantastic team building event between the young people and the police officers and provided an informal chance for our young people to build a bond with the police.

"They (PC Ian Scott and PC James Evans) were great sports and did not mind getting wet and having fun.

"We will be arranging more challenging events for the future and Peel Police will be getting an invitation from the Youth Service."
