Governor tackles 'Parish' for the first time

by isleofman.com 11th May 2011

New Isle of Man resident and Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood is among the 1,309 people who have so far entered this year's Scottish Widows Parish Walk.

Entries close this Sunday (May 15) for the event, which starts at the National Sports Centre, at 8am on June 25.

The winners from last year are both back to defend their titles, namely Sue Moore on the ladies' section and Jock Waddington, who will be attempting to become the first person to win four in a row.

Organisers are appealing to people to register online at parishwalk.com as they aim to achieve a final figure of 2,000 registered competitors for the 85 mile event.
