The Manx government controls the price of almost a quarter of the goods used to calculate the Retail Price Index in the Isle of Man.

The figure is 22 per cent, compared with 17 per cent for the Consumer Price Index, the other method of measuring inflation.

The information has been released by Treasury Minister Anne Craine in her answer to a written question in the House of Keys.

In the most recently published figures, inflation in the Isle of Man stood at 6.7 per cent in March, an increase of 0.6 per cent on the previous month.
