Police warn of prison time for those that haven't paid fines

by isleofman.com 11th May 2011

ANYONE with a warrant for an unpaid fine has been warned that they face imprisonment if they do not pay up.

Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team will be clamping down on people who have outstanding fines over the next two weeks.

A spokesperson for the policing team said: "If you have outstanding fines that have been converted into a warrant for non payment you are strongly advised to get them paid."

Those who do not pay will be liable for immediate arrest and imprisonment.

Anyone who would like to resolve an outstanding matter is asked to contact PC Charlene Dooley at Lord Street Police Station by telephoning 01624 631212 between 8am and 4pm.
