THERE are a limited number of tickets left for a fundraising event that will be attended by double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes.
The Olympian will visit the Island on May 26 to speak at a black-tie dinner at the Mount Murray Hotel and Country Club, which will raise money for The Children's Centre.
Around 250 people will attend the dinner with most of the tables sold on a corporate basis to businesses and other organisations.
Michelle O'Malley, fundraising manager at The Children's Centre, said: "There has been a tremendous response to Dame Kelly's visit and it promises to be a wonderful evening.
"We now have three tables left with tickets available to individuals to buy and we are expecting them to go quickly so I would urge anyone who is interested to get in touch as soon as possible."
Kelly won gold in the 800 and 1500 metre events at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. She has become an inspirational figure to many due to her determination to overcome a series of injuries which for many years blighted her attempts to win Olympic gold.
She became a Dame Commander of the British Empire in 2005 and in the same year was voted Laureus World Sports Woman of the Year which added to her BBC Sports Personality of the Year award in 2004.
Tickets are available from Michelle by telephoning 01624 631919 or e-mailing fundraising@thechildrenscentre.org.im.
