Dog owners reminded about beach rules

by isleofman.com 11th May 2011

DOUGLAS Council has issued a reminder to dog owners about restricted access to the beach.

Dogs are not permitted on the beach between 10am and 6pm until September, 30.

Under the Douglas Dog Control Byelaws 2008, dog owners can be fined £50 if they break this rule.

The byelaws also require dog waste to be removed from the beach, at all times of the year.

The council say there are numerous bins along the length of the Douglas Promenades to dispose of this.

Dog-owners have also been asked to ensure dogs are always kept on a lead or under the effective control of a person aged 10 or over.
