'Election rules are being rushed through'

The House of Keys will consider more changes to election rules today (Tuesday), as the Representation of the People amendment bill looks set to get two readings.

The new laws, being steered through by Chief Minister Tony Brown, would see limits on election spending and strict controls on political donations.

A number of amendments are being put forward by Onchan MHK Peter Karran and Rushen MHK Juan Watterson, with the first of Mr Watterson's proposing the new rules don't come in until after September's general election.
