Around 150 people made their voices heard at a public meeting about the future of breast care services in the Isle of Man last night (Monday).
It was organised by the Breast Cancer Action group, which wants want the Department of Health to abandon its plan to replace a dedicated breast cancer surgeon with a general surgeon with an interest in breast care.
Many of the people at the meeting had been affected by breast cancer, either themselves or through members of their families having the disease.
But by the end of the evening Health Minister David Anderson left them in no doubt the appointment would go ahead, despite facing a barrage of criticism.
Time and time again he defended the plan, stating categorically that care would not be compromised.
East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell, who is supporting the Breast Cancer Action Group, is vowing the fight isn't over yet.
She says she will take the matter to Tynwald, if necessary.
