POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car and motorcycle collided outside the entrance to Union Mills Football Club on Saturday.

The incident, in Ballaoates Road, happened at 6.30pm and involved a red Ford Focus driven by a Douglas woman travelling towards Douglas and a Yamaha motorcycle ridden by a Glen Vine man travelling west.

The rider of the motorcycle was treated at Noble's Hospital but was discharged later that evening with minor injuries.

Police Sergeant Gary Heaton of the Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "I would like to hear from any witnesses who saw what happened or anyone who had difficulties on the road that evening due to the heavy rain fall.
