Teare allays fears over bypass

Not on my watch!

That's the vow of the minister for education and children, who says no roads will be built across the playing field at QEII High School in Peel, as long as he remains in charge of the department.

There is concern from students, commissioners and a local action group that a planning application by developer Heritage Homes could pave the way for a road being built over the land in future.

However, ahead of a hearing on Wednesday, Eddie Teare says his department hasn't been approached by the developer, and insists there's no need for concern:
