by isleofman.com 5th May 2011

THE Manx Festival Chorus will be giving the first performance in the British Isles of Missa Fractione Panis by John Galea later this month.

The mass was written for the visit of the North West Festival Choir to Malta in 2009 and chosen by the Vatican for the visit of Pope Benedict.

The performance will take place on Sunday, May 15 at St Matthew's Church, Douglas, at 2.30pm. Tickets are £10.

The chorus, conducted by John Bethell, will also be performing Mendelssohn's Hymn of Praise.
