Lime green generator stolen from Cronk-y-Voddy

by isleofman.com 4th May 2011

A DIESEL generator that was being used for gas works has been stolen from a remote location near to Cronk-y-Voddy.

The generator – a Pramac P6000S - was taken from Staarvey Road sometime between Saturday, April 30 and this morning, Wednesday, May 4.

It is described as having a lime green casing and is mounted on two wheels.

PC Ian Scott said: "The generator is distinctive and can be positively identified if located.

"Although it has wheels it was most likely carried from the scene on or in a vehicle and given it weighs 200 kilos it is likely that up to four persons would be required to lift it.

"It was being used as part of the ongoing works to install the new gas mains pipe through the area and I would appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Staarvey Road area or who may have information that could assist the investigation to contact Peel Police Station."

Anyone who does have information is asked to contact PC Scott on 01624 842208.
