Manx dominate latest BSEC rounds

by isleofman.com 3rd May 2011

Manx riders completely dominated the latest rounds of the British Sprint Enduro Championships in Dorset at the weekend

David Knight and the McCanney brothers all claimed double victories in their classes.

Thirty-two-year-old world champion Knight led the Elite class from start to finish, signing off for the season by showing he's still the best in the business.

He is now set to have two operations on his hip to try and cure a long-standing problem, ruling him out until mid-September, according to a post on twitter.

The first of those will be on Saturday.

Meanwhile Danny McCanney finished 22 seconds ahead of fellow Manxman Alex Rockwell in the under-23 class on Saturday, recording a time good enough for third in the Elite class.

He then beat Rockwell by a minute in Sunday's sixth round.

Danny's younger brother Jamie produced some equally impressive winning margins from Australian Ben Burrell.

He won round five by about 11 seconds, then finished over a minute ahead of Burrell in round six.
