IT committee begins investigations this week

by isleofman.com 3rd May 2011

A Tynwald committee is going to hear evidence about the way the Manx government has spent money on information technology, or IT.

It has been charged with the task of finding out whether investment in certain projects has provided value for money.

The three-member committee is chaired by Rushen MHK Quintin Gill, and also includes Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen and Dudley Butt MLC.

On Thursday, they will hear from representatives from the Department of Health, the Department of Economic Development, and the Department of Education and Children, and on the same day next week (May 12) they will question a representative of the Department of Social Care.

The first evidence will be taken in public in the chambers of the Legislative Council, at 11am this Thursday.
