A pressure group pushing for the retention of a dedicated breast cancer surgeon in the Isle of Man is welcoming the health minister's decision to attend a public meeting.
David Anderson will face questions from the Breast Cancer Action Group and East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell about why his department is planning to appoint a general surgeon with an interest in breast care instead of keeping things as they are.
It's viewed by some as a step backwards, but health officials maintain there won't be a reduction in the level of care for breast cancer sufferers in the Isle of Man.
They say it will simply ease the burden on the hospital's other consultants.
