Blues Festival continues today - with images

by isleofman.com 1st May 2011

THE Big Wheel Blues Festival continues today (Sunday) at the Villa Marina in Douglas.

There will be free music this afternoon from 1pm and there are two stages - an outdoor acoustic stage in the Villa Marina Gardens and an indoor electric stage inside the Promenade Suite.

Yesterday saw Isle of Man based blues musicians play in the afternoon while world class visiting blues and roots music acts the Dale Storr Band, The Martin Harley Band and Eugene Hideaway Bridges performed in the Promenade Suite in the evening.

Tonight, which is a ticketed event, sees another excellent line up - local band Soul Suspects will open up proceedings followed by visiting acts Grainne Duffy and James Hunter.

It is the first year the blues festival has been held in Douglas. Usually it takes place in Laxey but its usual venue of the Pavillion in Laxey Glen Gardens was not available.
