Island looks back on a memorable day

As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wake up on their first day of married life, the Isle of Man is recovering from its Royal Wedding festivities.

Communities around the Island are taking down the bunting and packing away gazebos until the next time.

Manx Radio visited seven street parties yesterday (Friday), at venues including the Crofts in Castletown and Reayrt Ny Crink in Crosby.

These party-goers from Onchan's Windermere Avenue said their gathering was a great way of bringing neighbours together (first part of audio file):

Royal Wedding enthusiasts from Farmhill in Douglas said their street party was about giving the youngsters a memorable experience (second part of audio file):
