Royal wedding celebrations on Island

Street parties are taking place around the Island to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot at Westminster Abbey this morning and will now be known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Eight streets are closing for parties, including in the Crofts in Castletown, in the grounds of Foxdale school and a marathon 11 and a half hour bash in Oxford Street, Douglas which started at 9.30am.

There are also Street parties in Onchan's Windermere Avenue and Marina Close where there was something of an international flavour among the households taking part . .

The venues and times for today's eight street parties in the Isle of Man are:

St Runius Way, Glen Vine (2pm to 6pm); Windermere Avenue, Onchan (1.30pm to 6pm); The Crofts, Castletown (10am to 6pm); Ballamodha to St Mark's Road, in St Mark's village (5.30pm to 8pm); Alexander Drive, Douglas (12pm to 6pm); Oxford Street, Douglas (9.30am to 9pm); Marina Close, Onchan (1pm to 6pm); and Reayrt Ny Crink, Crosby (1.30pm to 5.30pm).
