Road closures for essential TT course resurfacing work

by isleofman.com 29th April 2011

ROAD closures will be put in place next week while the Department of Infrastructure carries out essential resurfacing work on the TT course.

There will be a closure at the end of Ballagarey Road at its junction with Peel Road on Tuesday (May 3) from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.

It is required to allow work to be carried out on the main Peel Road and the closure will prevent traffic from entering or leaving Ballagarey Road.

The following evening the main road will be resurfaced requiring a further closure of Ballagarey Road staring 6.30pm and remaining in place overnight.

The A1 Peel Road will remain open throughout, however when planing and resurfacing works are being carried out traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic lights.

There will also be resurfacing work on Quarterbridge Road at the Selborne Road junction.

The work will be carried out on Wednesday and Thursday evening and it will involve closures of Quarterbridge Road and the end of Selborne Road between 6.30pm and 10.30pm on each evening.

In addition the end of Selborne Road will need to remain closed overnight on the Thursday in order to prevent damage to the new surface by turning vehicles.

The department said it will aim to minimise disruption to the public and it apologises for any inconvenience the work may cause.
