by isleofman.com 29th April 2011

Communities across the Isle of Man are making the most of the special bank holiday to mark the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton today (Friday).

Eight streets are closing for parties, including the Crofts in Castletown and Onchan's Windermere Avenue and Marina Close.

Foxdale is holding its Royal Wedding festivities in the grounds of the village school, with stalls, music and games.

Meanwhile, there are three events in Douglas, as well as parties in Crosby, Glen Vine and St Mark's.

Manx Radio will be on the road, joining in the celebrations, and there will be live coverage of the main event from Westminster Abbey, on the station's AM 1368 service, from 11am.

St Runius Way, Glen Vine (2pm to 6pm); Windermere Avenue, Onchan (1.30pm to 6pm); The Crofts, Castletown (10am to 6pm); Ballamodha to St Mark's Road, in St Mark's village (5.30pm to 8pm); Alexander Drive, Douglas (12pm to 6pm); Oxford Street, Douglas (9.30am to 9pm); Marina Close, Onchan (1pm to 6pm); and Reayrt Ny Crink, Crosby (1.30pm to 5.30pm).
