Falga take top honours at Pan Celtic

by isleofman.com 28th April 2011

Manx vocal group Falga took first place in the traditional singing competition at the Pan Celtic Festival in Dingle, County Kerry.

It was the Isle of Man's first win in the competition.

Each group sang two songs in their own language, with Falga group members Clare Kilgallon, Margaid Bird and Fiona McArdle performing Cadlee ny Moidyn Moirrey (Lullaby of the Virgin Mary) and My Chaillin Veg Dhone (My Little Brown Girl).

The competition was held on Wednesday night, and singers from Cornwall and Wales were second and third.

It's the 40th year the festival has been held, and this year's venue is Dingle in County Kerry.
