Keep clear of 'police publication' scam

by isleofman.com 27th April 2011

Police in the Isle of Man are warning about a scam which is currently doing the rounds.

Several local businesses have been offered advertising space in what has been described as a 'police-related' publication.

A spokesman says the Isle of Man Constabulary is not currently involved in any such project.

Police are repeating the advice never to disclose any financial information during a 'cold call' telephone conversation.

They also say anybody considering taking up any offer should request full details in writing before doing so.
