The Health and Safety Executive is due to launch an investigation later today (Tuesday) into the death of a Manx stuntman in Kent.

Matt Cranch, 23, whose stagename was 'Matt the Manx Crank', died after a human cannonball stunt went wrong during the Scott May Daredevil Stunt Show at the County Showground in Detling, Kent.

He was fired 40 feet into the air from a huge cannon but was seriously injured after a safety net collapsed and he later died in Maidstone Hospital.

BBC Radio Kent’s Graham Cooke, who's at the scene, says police have already begun their probe into the incident.
