Call goes out for more volunteers

by isleofman.com 26th April 2011

The organisers of the Commonwealth Youth Games say they have had an excellent response to an appeal for helpers, but still need more.

Hundreds of people have already offered their services free of charge but, with a target of 1,000 volunteers with a variety of skills and experience, further offers of assistance would be gratefully received.

The organising committee says many businesses are offering their employees time off so they can get involved, although the majority of shifts will be outside normal working hours.

There will be a recruitment drive across the Island throughout the May bank holiday weekend, and to find out more you can visit cyg2011.com or ring 662011.

The Commonwealth Youth Games will be held in the Isle of Man from September 7th to 13th this year.
