THE main Douglas to Peel road finally re-opened more than five hours after a serious traffic accident close to the Hawthorn public house in Greeba this afternoon.

It was the second serious road accident outside the popular Hawthorn in only a few weeks.

Peel bike rider Alex Williamson, 34, died after a collision outside the hotel on March 28th. An inquest was opened and adjourned and will resume later.

Police have not yet released any specific details about today’s accident.
