Praise for 'supersonic Fred Dibnah'

by isleofman.com 25th April 2011

After its successful launch at cinemas across the United Kingdom, 'TT3D - Closer to Edge' is continuing to garner praise from critics.

Mail Online reviewer James O'Brien gives it four stars out of five and comments that the film 'has no business being as engrossing, moving and amusing as it is'.

He goes on to say he has no particular interest in motorcycle road racing, but was completely caught up in the 'sanity-defying stories' of four riders, and was especially taken by Guy Martin's 'beguiling blend of eccentricity and expertise', describing the Lincolnshire rider as a sort of 'supersonic Fred Dibnah'.

He suggests the film allows the 3D technology to rise above being 'just a gimmick', and highlights both the triumphs and the tragedies of the event.
