Nationwide International appoints new managing director

by isleofman.com 22nd April 2011

NATIONWIDE International has appointed Philip Dunne as managing director, in succession to the late Carl Gandy.

Mr Dunne has been with the Nationwide Group for 20 years and his appointment is seen as a natural progression from his role as operations and deputy managing director.

The appointment maintains continuity and stability at the Nationwide International offices in St Georges St, Douglas where Phil has deputised as managing director whilst Carl concentrated on the recent expansion of the Nationwide Group’s business outside of the Isle of Man.

“It’s great to have someone of Phil’s stature and ability to be able to take on the role of managing director of Nationwide International”, said Robin Bailey, Nationwide’s director for savings & investments.

“Having Phil as managing director is the natural way to ensure the company is run in the same positive and proactive manner as it has been for many years.  He knows the way the organisation operates and his appointment retains the stability and consistency of the business as well as ensuring that its future goes from strength to strength.”

Philip Dunne added, "Carl was a unique individual and it is a privilege to continue the legacy he left for the company.  He and I worked very closely for over 15 years and I am keen to maintain and develop the successful strategy that has built Nationwide International into the thriving business it is today."
