Faulty lawnmover leads to court appearance

by isleofman.com 22nd April 2011

A 29-year-old man who gripped his partner around the throat because he was angry that his lawnmower wouldn't work has been bailed by the deputy high bailiff for reports.

Ian Derek Brown, of Fairy Hill, Ballafesson, admitted a provoking behaviour charge.

The incident happened at the defendant's home at 1pm on March 25.

Police were called to Brown's home and arrested him, although his partner declined to make a formal complaint.

Brown told police he was very remorseful and needed help to control his anger.

He will appear for sentence on May 20.
